Re: Collection William Niederland
I should like to confirm the instruction that the medical reports included in
the William Niederland collection have to be considered sealed. They can only
be released for study^by you going through the following procedure:
a) you xerox the original report,
b) you return the original report to the closed file,
c) you expunge from the xerox by black magic marker all and any
names printed in the report,
d) you give xerox copy with names expunged to the user, and
e) do not release even this xerox for use out of the house.
The user has to return the xerox to you when leaving the archives
There is only one possibility of exception to this rule, and that is, if Dr.
Niederland obtains the written permission of his patient that the file be released
for study without expunging the name and then in addition give his own written
permission that the original file be released to the user of our archives.
A copy of this instruction should be at all times in front of each folder belonqinq
to the Niederland collection.
Thank you.
